Low Carb Green Smoothie

Remember the wheat grass craze that hit the health food scene years ago? It’s pretty much died down since then, but the fact remains that it’s super good for you and has tons of detox features to it. Here they’re mixing it with spinach, can’t go wrong there, and they’ve upped the taste factor by adding some stevia as well as almond butter and coconut water. They’ve kept the fruit to a minimum to avoid added carbohydrates.

There are days that call for the cleansing power of greens –you know what I’m talking about.

I’ve been traveling the past couple of weeks. First it was Palm Springs for a family Father’s Day celebration, and then it was down to San Diego for Craig Ballantyne’s Turbulence Training Summit.

Both trips were really great, with plenty of time spent with family and friends.

And lots of meals eaten out…and more than my share of wine and crusty bread rolls.

Now that I’m back home it’s time for some detox with this low carb green smoothie.

A Recipe by Diana Keuilian

  • 1 scoop high quality, low carb chocolate protein
  • 1 inch slice of banana

  • ½ cup ice
  1. Combine all the ingredients in your high speed blender then blend on high for a full minute, or until the tiny pieces of spinach have disappeared and the smoothie turns a brilliant shade of green.
